The Aurifil Calm House Collection brings together five of Aurifil’s most useful neutral shades in their wonderfully fine 80wt 2-ply cotton thread. These are the colours you’ll reach for when you want your thread to quietly do its job rather than steal the show.

You’ll get 5 small spools, each with approximately 300 yards / 280 metres of 100% Egyptian cotton 80wt thread:

• 2000 – Light Sand – the natural colour of cotton

• 2021 – Natural White

• 2370 – Sandstone

• 2615 – Aluminium

• 2625 – Arctic Ice

Together they make a seriously handy little neutral palette, covering warm creams and sandy tones through to cool grey and icy white.

Why 80wt?

Aurifil 80wt is wonderfully fine, making it a firm favourite for hand sewing and English Paper Piecing, where a fine thread helps create beautifully flat, neat seams without adding bulk. It’s also fabulous for hand appliqué, machine appliqué, embroidery and other detailed stitching.

For EPP and hand piecing in particular, 80wt is a bit of a dream — fine enough to help keep your stitches discreet while still giving you the strength and smoothness you want from Aurifil cotton.

And because these five shades are all neutrals, they’re incredibly versatile. Whether you're stitching tiny EPP shapes, needle-turning appliqué or hand piecing your next quilt, there’s a very good chance one of these little spools will blend beautifully.
