Elizabeth Hartman's Pups in Pajamas is a wonderfully playful patchwork pattern featuring adorable pups all dressed up in their favourite sleepwear. And, naturally, the pyjamas are where you get to have some serious fabric fun — Elizabeth designed the pattern to make use of your favourite fat quarters, so those treasured prints you've been saving could be about to get a very important job.

The blocks are made entirely from rotary-cut squares and rectangles and assembled using conventional patchwork techniques, with no templates and no paper piecing. There are quite a few pieces involved, including some smaller ones, but the same basic patchwork techniques are used throughout. Elizabeth's patterns are known for their wonderfully thorough instructions, and this one includes detailed cutting directions, charts showing all the pieces in each block, plus written instructions and full-colour diagrams for every step.

And the best bit? You aren't limited to making a quilt. Pups in Pajamas includes three finished projects, so you can choose your favourite way to unleash the puppy party.
