Sometimes it's the quiet fabrics that end up being the hardest working. Small Windowpane Woven has a classic woven check that feels familiar from the moment you pick it up. The fine windowpane design is subtle enough to read almost like a solid from a distance, but up close it adds just the right amount of texture and detail to make a quilt feel that little bit more special.

Designed by Alexia Marcelle Abegg for the Warp & Weft Mystic Fable collection, this rich red yarn-dyed woven has a wonderfully soft hand and a relaxed, lived-in feel. It's one of those fabrics I'd happily mix into almost any project—bringing warmth, structure and a gentle touch of pattern without ever asking to be the centre of attention. I can already imagine it tucked between florals, novelty prints and low-volume fabrics, quietly tying everything together.
